Please let this be a dream?
My Daughter sheds so many tears,
No clue of pain, nor any ordinary fears!
What moves her so, that I cannot stem this stream?
Is it from hurt or a sudden fright,
that turns your face so sad from this demise?
Perhaps an icy breeze, doth swell your weeping eyes.
But if not these, then I must ask you to shed some light?
Tell me, why do you cry today?
Dear daughter please you must decree,
as tears seem impossible to dry, like some disease.
Reaching out to embrace, sadly you seem too far away.
“Dear Dad, we will all miss you very much”.
A voice gentle like an angel, I hear her say:
“Goodbye dear Dad, I did love you come what may”…
In fear, I hear no laughter: nor can I feel her tender touch.
Dear Lord I pray, please attest my final case;
that this nightmare is merely a passing dream.
If so, my tears of joy I save for her when we next embrace,
one final wish, for only happy tears to roll gently down her face.
