Sonnet of a hidden truth

March 12, 2019

A sworn promise, loiters beside my heart;

secret guarded, carries a heavy toll.

If truth released, will our love tear apart;

or question motives, for this guilty role?

Secret lips, not a single word should pass;

yet lies lurk, in grey matters of my mind.

No certainty, to free this thought at last;

withheld, surely erodes my mind in time.

Why not, can’t such a burden soon be sold;

should pity be endorsed, or guilt suffice?

Old promise so strong, hath no story told;

truth be it now, my final sacrifice…

           -Discourse humble, truth beguiles freedom;

            fool regains faith, be gone lying Demon.
