I am not a Major-General, of Poetry incredible

March 12, 2019

This is a very muddled model,

of mixing metaphors with alter-aphorisms;

the rudimentary re-creation,

formulating perfect patterns of post modernism?

I injected calculated rhyming scepticism,

recreating types of what-everisms;

until repercussions of regurgitated poetry,

soon appeared to be a CRIME.

At the start, it mattered not,

if it’s a paradox of euphemistic parallelism;

for I tried to model perfect parody,

as my major in postmodern generalism.

I am usually well accustomed,

shall we say with customising poetry,

sculpting a rhyme instinctively,

with rhapsodies of metered symmetry.

I searched the universe inquisitively,

for any assonance of trisyllabically,

well aware, alliteration of this poem,

may erode my sanity in TIME.

As you can see, it matters not,

if it’s a paradox of euphemistic parallelism;

for I tried to model perfect parody,

as my major in postmodern generalism.

 I thought I knew one thing or two,

about well-timed rhythm being critical;

instead intentions that were musical,

are now quite hysterically asymmetrical.

So is it masculine or feminine,

whilst I search for an intellectual synonym;

creating stanzas oh so quizzical,

like newborn quadruplets in a RHYME?

In short, it matters not,

 if it’s a paradox of euphemistic parallelism;

for I tried to model perfect parody,

as my major in postmodern generalism.

Yet, I never majored in General poetry;

fans may find this quite incredible;

had I sought opinion from a Wordsworth,

he would have declared it all a dribble!

I am therefore puzzled by my scribble,

as it appears like subversion so inflexible,

and yet I am thrilled with most my poetry,

as it doth make me feel SUBLIME.

Yet again, it matters not,

if it’s a paradox of euphemistic parallelism;

for I tried to model perfect parody,

as my major in postmodern generalism.

May I present a less than perfect parody,

with consideration to verse catastrophe;

beware it’s squarely aimed at the initiated,

my prose of dialectic nonsensicality.

The post-mortem of my poetry, critically,

exposes end-rhyme as my abnormality;

thus grant my poignant epitaph to read,

‘A Thesaurus found his end just FINE!’
