Poem to Dad

March 10, 2019

Hi again, it’s me again,

I’m here to share your pain.

A fight so hard to beat this cancer,

I just wish this once, I had an answer.

Dad, I’m going to miss you true,

I’ve prayed so hard, yes I do love you.

Each night you held my hand so tight,

I really wish I could join your fight.

I pray for all your pain to leave,

yet fear you may be gone this eve.

So as you lay there peacefully,

I ask the Lord this simple plea:

Please forgive my father for any sins,

accept him in, where a new world begins.

Be it a welcoming realm of joy and love,

grant him peace, with your family above.
