Remembered by that smile

March 12, 2019

Recalling how a smile would greet,

his kind face, captured in my mind.

I wish we could return that beat,

to a heart which was so fine.

More to this man than I ever knew,

calm reassurance, all the while.

Considered words, I longed to hear;

his face remembered by that smile.

Measured thoughts of rich memories,

legacy left through poetic seeds.

His stories, full of adventure;

a gentleman, whose words would please.

We mourn the passing of a friend,

grasp precious moments in our mind.

To search a friendly street today,

a better man, you will not find.
