A Monolith enters my sky

March 14, 2019

Taste-buds tingle, as flavours erupt,

trapped between processed wheat grains.

Mustard and pickles, onions and sauce,

next time I will pass or refrain!

White lines blurred, no sound can be heard,

as green valleys and hills roll on by;

I sit in the rear of a Holden with beer,

as a monolith enters my sky.

Invading the landscape, a gigantic beast,

holds grain to feed thousands of mouths.

Concrete ugly, protects wheat from the heat,

perhaps some will be kept for the cows.

I look to my sandwich, and ponder a thought,

as the crust hardly eaten remains;

these towers hold grain, for many a loaf,

and sandwiches help to build brains.
