I wonder just what life's about,
if nature’s will can create the rout.
Turn water to flood, or trees to ash;
the beauty of our landscapes slashed.
God's own creation, an ancient tree,
both wide of girth and full of leaves.
Came face to face with a human beast,
now a baron stump; more life has ceased.
We trample on environment’s heart,
as greed, surely rips nature apart.
Farewell to life in balance, it seems,
as man destroys, sacred earthly dreams.
When life is born, we all rejoice,
until awkwardly and ironically,
a life is taken just as easily;
without a fair or farewell choice.
So who are we to judge or choose?
God be the judge, on what things we lose.
Earth to earth and dust to dust,
leave this planet with people we trust.
